Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Travis Head is now second on the list of an unwanted feat after the side’s loss to KKR. SRH were handed a 80run thrashing by the defending champions on Thursday at the Eden Gardens. The IPL 2024 runners-up suffered a batting collapse, which saw Head manage to score just 4 runs before he was sent packing.
Unwanted feat for SRH’s Head
After the KKR vs SRH contest, Head now has the 2nd lowest average when it comes to chasing 200+ totals in the IPL. KKR’s Sunil Narine, who isn’t a full-time batter, has the lowest average of 6.6. Head is second on the list with an average of 9.6.

Head has had a mixed-run so far in IPL 2025. While he has managed to get great starts, the Australian hasn’t been able to convert them into big knocks. In fact, he is yet to replicate his form from the previous season where he went berserk in almost all games.
In IPL 2025, Head has scores of 67, 47, 22 and 4. His opening partner Abhishek Sharma has been miserable so far in the ongoing season. He has scores of 24, 6, 1 and 2 in four matches. If SRH want to perform like how they did last year, then it is imperative for the duo of Head and Sharma to rediscover their form at the earliest.
What happened in KKR vs SRH match?
First, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50) and Venkatesh Iyer (60) batted exceptionally well for KKR to score 200/6, and then bowled out SRH for 120, with every bowler chipping in. Pacer Vaibhav Arora returned with figures of 3/29, while Sunil Narine tightened the screws on Hyderabad batsmen, with 1/30. But most importantly, spinner Varun Chakravarthy got the much-expected assistance from the pitch to deliver a match-winning performance of 3/22.
