If the series ends 2-2, India can still qualify, but several permutations and combinations need to align. However, if Australia manages to win even one game in that series, it will almost mark the end of the road for the Indian camp.
In such a scenario, one more neighbour can help India. Since Pakistan is set to play two Test matches against South Africa, if Pakistan defeats South Africa, the Proteas will miss out, paving the way for India and Australia to face each other in the World Test Championship Final 2025.
